A collection of hanging hammocks, which are all interconnected by a pulley system. This piece involves the audience's participation since they become each other's counterweight while inside the hanging hammocks. They will have to negotiate, feel, and cooperate through the physical movements of each other's hammocks. This is inspired by the Kafkaesque, as expressed in the following quote from Sanford Kwinter's Architectures of Time.
1. "Propagates by means of immediate and localized interaction; one to one contact between units, segments or cells"
2. "Functions not to saturate or consolidate a territory, space, but in a certain sense rather to invade it by producing its effects slowly and gradually over time."
3. "Indeterminate, especially with regard to its source; it seems never to have a fixable origin."

Hammocks at the DUMBO Arts Festival
Data Mining of Hammocks at the DUMBO Arts Festival
for the annual dumbo art festival, i decided to archive the interactions of the hanging hammocks in hopes of discovering a narrative with the collected data. though not much can be said with the first set of information. hopefully more of these interactions will occur in the future to expose the latent dialogue within the installation.
